A: For antique clawfoot tubs and sinks I acid wash the unit which removes the shine from the old surface making it rough and bond-able. I then apply one thick coat of quality aerospace epoxy primer and then three separate coats of high gloss acrylic polyurethane enamel which contains a sunscreen agent that prevents the finish from yellowing over time. Professional spray equipment is used similar to what is used in auto body shops. I can also apply an anti-skid texture to the bottom of your clawfoot tub for an additional cost.

A: The warranty for refinishing of antique clawfoot tubs is 3 years for owner occupied homes OR 1 year for rental and commercial properties. This basically covers it against any peeling. The guarantee does not cover chipping, faucet leak damage, bath mat damage, improper cleaning, or other abuse. The bathtub will outlive the warranty for many years if properly maintained! You will be provided a care sheet that explains how to care for your clawfoot bathtub. After 1 year it's a minimal $50-$100 charge for ALL house calls until warranty expires which is a greatly reduced rate. Bathtub or shower spot repair work to cracks or chips has a 1 year warranty. Cracked bathtub or shower floors requiring a foam and/or inlay repair has a 2 years warranty.

A: In most cases, you may use your repaired tub or shower within 24 hours.
